How to create and share links

There are multiple ways to create links on Howl depending on how many links you want to create, and if you are using a computer or mobile device. 

You can create either static or dynamic links on Howl. Dynamic links will automatically redirect to the landing page with the highest earning potential. Howl’s dynamic link technology looks at commission rates, conversion rates, and stock status, which means you don’t have to worry about updating links when a commission drops or sending your followers to an out-of-stock product page. Static links, however, will be specific to the product and retailer and/or brand you choose.

If you need to create a lot of links at once, you can use the bulk link creator. Here’s how:

• Log in to your dashboard via planethowl.com.
• Click Create Links under the Links tab in the nav bar.
• Paste in the product URLs you want to convert to Howl links. You can add up to 20 links at a time, but make sure there is a line break in between each URL.

• The links you paste into the bulk link creator will be dynamic by default. Only toggle off the “Dynamic Link” option if you would like all of your traffic to go to a specific retailer.

• Validate your newly created links to make sure none of them are broken. 
• Create a new post or choose an existing post and add your links to it. Posts keep your links in one place and allow you to see what content is driving engagement. (Note: You can also skip this step if you want to create your links immediately without adding them to a post.)
• To create a new post, click on “Create a New Post.” Select your social channel, choose a name for the post, and add a social URL.
• To select an existing post, navigate to “Most Recent Posts” and select your preferred post.
• At any time, you can edit your links and change the post they are associated with by clicking on My Links in the Links tab of the nav bar. 
• Congratulations! You’ve just created Howl links in bulk. You can now copy these new links and share them with your audience on your social channels.

If you’re browsing your favorite retailer and find the perfect product, you can use the Howl Chrome extension to create links without going through your Howl dashboard. Here’s how:

• Download the Howl Chrome extension.
• Log in to your Howl account.
• If you’ve already created a post to assign your links to, you can select it here. If you’re creating a new post, click “Create New Post.”
• Select the social channel on which you’ll post your links.
• Paste in the URL you want to convert to a Howl link. 
• “Dynamic Link” will be on by default. Only toggle off the “Dynamic Link” option if you would like all of your traffic to go to a specific retailer.
• Click “Create Link.”
• Congratulations! Your link has been created and copied to your clipboard. You can share this link with your audience on your social channels.

If you see a campaign on your Howl dashboard with products that interest you, you can select those products to make  links through the campaign card. Here’s how:

• Log in to your Howl dashboard via planethowl.com and locate your desired campaign.You can do this via your dashboard homepage or on the Brands & Campaigns in the nav bar.
• Once you have located the campaign, click into the campaign card and scroll down.
• Pick a product you want to link to and click “Make Link.”
• If you’ve already created the post you want to associate with this link, select it here. If you need to create a new post, click “Create New Post.”
• Congratulations! Your link has been created and copied to your clipboard. You can share this link with your audience on your social channels.

You can also create links using the Howl app on your mobile device. Here’s how:

• Download the Howl app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
• Log in to your Howl account.
• Click Create Link on the bottom nav bar.
• If you’ve already created the post you want to associate with this link, select it here. If you need to create a new post, click “Create New Post.”
• Search for any brand or retailer to browse their site and make a link on any product page. Select the product you want to create a link for and click “Create Link.”
• “Dynamic Link” will be on by default. Only toggle off the “Dynamic Link” option if you would like all of your traffic to go to a specific retailer.
• You can also use the batch link creator to create multiple links at once. Paste in any Product URLs you want to convert to Howl links, validate, and confirm.
• Congratulations! Your link has been created and copied to your clipboard. You can share this link with your audience on your social channels.

You can also share a link directly to the Howl mobile app from your browser to create a link. (Note: You must have the app installed and be logged in.) Here’s how:

• While on any web page, click on the share icon.
• A set of apps will appear at the bottom of your screen. 
• Click on the Howl app icon.
• The Howl app will open, showing the newly created link. Pick your desired social platform and share with your audience.
